Opening hours at the Consular Section during Spring Festival

We wish to inform our clients that the Consular Section of the Consular General of Hungary in Chongqing, except for cases of emergency involving a Hungarian citizen, will be closed during the Spring Festival holiday from the 28th of January until the 4th of February, 2025. From the 5th of February, 2025, the Consular Section will resume work with normal opening hours.

Submission of visa applications in the office of the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing

Starting from June 1, 2024, type C and D visa applications can only be submitted directly in the office of the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing if the applicant live in the consular area of the Consulate General.

We wish to inform our clients that the Consular Section of the Consular General of Hungary in Chongqing, except for cases of emergency involving a Hungarian citizen, will be closed during the Christmas and New Year holidays from 23 December 2024 until 1 January 2025. From 2 January 2025, the Consular Section will resume work with normal opening hours.

Opening hours of the Consular Section during the Memorial Day of the 1956 Revolution

Dear Applicants, We wish to inform you that the Consular Section of the Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing - except for cases of urgent emergency involving a Hungarian citizen - will be closed during the Memorial Day of the 1956 Revolution Labour Day Holiday (23 October 2024). The Consular Section will resume work on the 24th of October, 2024 with normal opening hours.

Opening of the VFS Global Hungarian Visa Application Center in Chongqing

Please note that a new Immigration Act will enter into force on 1 January 2024. The procedure for applications for residence and permanent residence permits submitted before the entry into force of this Act will be suspended between 1 January 2024 and 29 February 2024.

Outsourcing of residence permit applications

We wish to inform our Clients, that as of 13th June, 2023 applicants can submit their residence permit applications at the Visa Application Centers of VFS Global, an outsourcing partner agency authorised to receive visa applications on behalf of the Consulate General of Hungary.

Hungarian contemporary art exhibition in Bishan district of Chongqing

As part of the 13th Western China Hungarian Cultural Festival: Spring of Budapest program series, an exhibition of 100 works (paintings and photos) from six Hungarian contemporary artists (Attila Könnyű, Anton Molnár, Endre László, György Tóth, Zsuzsa Gajdán and Orsolya Áder) and Imre Kinszki opened from May 17 to June 30, 2022 at the Bishan Art Museum in Bishan District of Chongqing.

Natural Treasures of the Visegrad Group Nature Photo Exhibition in Chengdu

The exhibition, organized on the occasion of the 2021/2022 Hungarian presidency of the Visegrád Group (V4), a more than 30 years old regional alliance of Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, presents the natural beauties, landscapes, fauna and flora of the four Central European countries through 60 nature photographs. Chengdu is the second city in Western China after Chongqing, where the pictures were exhibited.
